January 31, 2012.

Today was an off day, but I did my best to be okay. 

In Chem, we talked more about the geometry of molecules and even the electron structure or w/e. More balloons. -____- It’s not like I scream when I see them, they just make my heart rush and seeing them gives me panic attacks. Nbd. In history, we took notes and watched a small clip. In French, we had a sub and everyone switched seats. I sat with Ian and Ngan where Jenny usually sit! Eric is funny! He speaks to me in English and I try to respond slowly, but sometimes I forget he’s not fluent and I blurt out things really quickly in English and he just has this blank, confused face, and vice versa when he forgets and speaks to me in French. Sometimes when we get stuck, we just use Viet because we’re both fluent in it. It’s common ground. LOL.

In Lang, I switched seats with Chris because he wanted to talk to Nancy. Sitting next to Diana, Hoa, and Emily is hella fun. We made a bet to speak ONLY in Viet to each other for the entire period and first to cave has to treat us to food. It was HILARIOUS. Emily speaking Viet is so cute. She sounds like a 5-year-old! The entire thing was just funny in general. Hoa accidentally spoke in English because she was trolled by Chris with John’s shock pen. She owes us food now. :D In pre-calc, it was the same old, same old. After school, I went to Mrs. Bailey’s so I could get some hw done. I was going to ask some questions, but I got carried away with taking notes. Calvin brought me Aroma! I gave him money in 7th and he went there after school and dropped it off for me.

January 28, 2012.

I never do any designs on my nails because it always comes out really tacky and messy like so. I think I’ll just stick to simply painting them. 

Woke up at 7:20 for open gym with Jannat but when we got there, turns out, the gym was already being used for something else and we couldn’t use it. I woke up really early on a Saturday for nothing. -___- Drove back home and Jannat stayed over for a bit. We watched The Lost Boys on Netflix and then some more shows on T.V. Made lunch and then Jannat went home. When she left, I k.o.ed for a couple of hours.

My mom woke me up at like, 4 ‘cause we had a late Chinese New Year party to go to, so I showered and got ready. We arrived there at around 6 and didn’t leave until like, 1am. There’s not much to do there because everyone there is either really old or really young. I just hung out in Anthony’s room with Calvin and Danny while Anthony played whatever it was he was playing in the living room. I spent most of my time playing Temple Run. I got another high score! ^____^ I need a life…. I played Temple Run for two hours because I didn’t have anything else to do. We watched Happy Gilmore on DVD and it was HILARIOUS. I can’t believe I’ve never seen that movie. Adam Sandler is hilarious. <3 

January 27, 2012.

Practically every time I wear that jacket, Chris does too. It’s so weird! Every time I decide to wear that jacket, it’s really last-minute, too. Like I’d have 5 minutes before I have to leave the house and I’d just throw something random on along with that jacket and leave.

In chem, we went over the homework and did some work with formal charges. Today, Mrs. Bailey did a demonstration on the shapes of atoms. She used balloons and I sit in the front…. ALL BAD. She used my table as a place to set her balloons, too! It was like, RIGHT THERE in front of me. And every time she squeezed it / twisted it / tied them together, I was having min panic attacks. asdfghjkl. No more balloons, please. 

In History, we took a test. The essay part was really easy, but I found the multiple choice questions ridiculous. They threw me off a bit. Came in late to French because I was waiting for Sonny, Christine, Joyce, and Jennifer to finish their tests so that Romo can just write one late pass for all 5 of us. By the time we got to class, there was only about 30 minutes left of it. There was this weird chain-reaction thing going on today. Apparently, because they assumed we were absent, we got our seats taken. Hoa took Kendra’s seat and Kendra took mine, so I sat all the way on the other corner of the room next to Ace. At first I was a bit lonely and bored, but then Ace, Erika and Elaine talked to me and it was all good. I really liked sitting there! 

In Lang, we read passages from Huck Finn and answered questions about them. I spaced out most of the time. Nancy and I drew on this random eraser we found. We named him Estaban Julio Ricardo Montoya De La Rosa Ramirez. In pre-calc, we did the usual. I had a hard time staying awake in class today. I don’t know why. That hasn’t happened for months.

January 26, 2012.

Today in chem, we had a sub. I spent the first period working on my study guide and the 2nd one working on Winchester’s essay with Chris and Nancy. It was a really easy day since we had a sub. I think I was pretty productive!! Ever since Chinese New Year, I’ve been spending most of my money on school food because I’m always hungry. Yay for wasting money on crappy food! In History, we did a little review for the test tomorrow. In French, we corrected the work we were supposed to do a couple days back in our workbooks. Lunch was the Interact meeting! Today, Allen told me I looked nice and that was the nicest thing he has ever said to me. Forever cherishing the one moment he’s nice to me. <3 LOL. In Lang, we did some review and talked about Obama’s State of Union Address. I played Temple Run on Chris’ iTouch. I REACHED 1,000,000! Eeeeek, my highest score. :))) In pre-calc, it was the usual. Corrected homework, took notes, free classtime to work on homework. 

After school, I went to conditioning for badminton. I’m SO out of shape. We jogged two laps for warm-up, streched, Doan took attendance, and then we jogged some more. Except that time, we had to jog the curves and sprint the straights. After the 2nd lap, I was cramping up and running out of breath and the entire time, I was running with this huge knot on my side. I think I was the last person. A lot of people overlapped me / passed me. :( Alan was really nice and ran with me and encouraged me. That meant a lot because honestly, I would’ve quit if it weren’t for him. The cramps hurt a lot, but I just tried my best to ignore them. After (I lost count of how many) laps, newbies and a couple of returners (I think it was just Victoria, Michelle and I) went to the basketball courts and did birdie runs. It was okay, but my legs got really tired and stiff and felt like noodles. 

January 25, 2012. 

Today, I french-braided my hair for the first time! It’s really messy and crooked, but it’s a big improvement! I really fail as a girl. I can’t do much to my hair aside from straightening and curling it. 

Today was a bad day, so I opt not to blog about it because it will turn into one huge rant of my frustrations. Blogging about it will only make me even more upset, so I’ll just sleep this one off. 

January 24, 2012. 

Oh, y’know, Thien and I just being ourselves. I think this picture, although it isn’t the best because it was too sunny, depicts the both of us as friends very well. The sassy one (Thien) and the one who can’t be sassy to save her life~*~*

Today in chem, we learned to draw bonds. During the break between 2nd and 3rd, Connie and I had a talk about the classes I might want to take next year. It was really a big help because it gave me a much clearer idea of what I want to take. I think my mind is almost made up now. I really appreciated Connie’s help! She had a lot of insight on the classes I were considering. It was so nice of her, too. :) 

In Romo’s we did a little debate. Pro-welfare against anti-welfare. I was placed on the anti-welfare side. During the discussion, things got a bit out of hand and the class started yelling at each other. Our side ended up losing, but it’s okay. I thought the debate was really interesting! In French, we didn’t really do much aside from talking for a bit, and then Biaye had Eric go up to the front of the class and we basically asked him questions about life in France. It was really interesting! 

In Lang, we presented our current events and spent the rest of the class time taking notes on fallacies. Class was kinda boring today. In pre-calc, in the middle of notes, I guess I dropped my glasses case, so Calvin handed it to me. But when he handed it to me, he didn’t keep a tight grip on it and we dropped it, making a loud noise. Irritated, Nellis was like, “You guys might as well skip class if you’re going to be doing that”. I didn’t even do anything….. 

January 23, 2012.

Instead of drinking them, I like to freeze my Jamba Juice drinks and then eat them as if they were ice cream. 

Today in chem, we took the periodic table trends test. I’m really worried, because I finished the multiple choice quickly and I didn’t feel like the test was hard at all. Mrs. Bailey told me not to worry too much, but I can’t help it. I checked my answers at least 4 times and I still felt like the answers I chose were right. Well…. were right to me. Hopefully, I didn’t end up bombing the test altogether. Getting a B would be nice. I have no hope for an A because I don’t believe I’m THAT smart.

During break, lots of firecrackers were set off. 

In history, we finished up drawing our posters and then presented them. Nehal and I are so artistic. :) Just kidding…. our drawing looked like something a 5-year-old drew. LOL. It’s okay, it’s just Romo. In French, we corrected our homework. Leanne and I have realized that ever since Eric has transferred into our class, he’s been assigning us a ridiculous amount of work to do during class and for homework as well. It’s getting annoying how we spent a whole semester without doing any real work and having no homework and then all of a sudden he expects us to adjust so quickly and easily to this new pace. 

During lunch, more firecrackers were set off. Jillian got hella scared, omg. They were getting kinda annoying. 

In Lang, we discussed the book. I wasn’t paying too much attention. I haven’t been able to pay attention in this class lately. My attention span is shot by the time I get to lunch. I have no energy to try and pay attention anymore. /sigh. In pre-calc, we looked at our test scores. I got a B…. it’s kind of understandable because the test questions threw me off. At least I’ve been doing a lot better in this class. Even though I have a crapload of homework I need to catch up on. 

January 22, 2012. 

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BB NANCY. ♥ ♥ ♥  I just got back from an area meeting! We just finished picking performances for Benefit Show and dividing into committees for planning and stuff.

Sadly, Jenny and I did not make it in to the performers’ list for the show. But that’s okay! We tried our best and the competition was SERIOUS. Like honestly, I didn’t even want to vote because EVERYONE who auditioned was so talented and sounded so great. I wish we could just have everyone perform, but sadly, the time slot won’t allow that. We’re on the alternatives list, though! I think we’re 3rd? That means that after Emily does all the time calculations, if there extra time for a couple more performances, then we might get to perform! But if we don’t, that’s okay too, because at least we tried. ^___^ 

Kk, now I’m off to a Tet party! CHINESE NEW YEAR MONEY. <333 I have to bring my books and backpack with me, though, because I’m going to try and study for the chem test tomorrow. I really want to do well on it. 

January 21, 2012.

This morning, I led an event downtown! We planted trees in Japantown. =) Because of the weather forecast last night, A LOT of people cancelled on me. I had 20+ volunteers and only like, 11 actually showed up. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO SHOWED UP TO MY EVENT DESPITE THE HARSH WEATHER. I know it was pretty cold out there and it sprinkled for a bit, but I really appreciate those who toughened up and showed up. Everyone was such good sports and nobody really complained about the work. The weather wasn’t even that bad once we got working! It was pretty fun, so the weather didn’t bother me much.

Yerba Buena Interact was there as well! We tried mixing groups and having Inde kids work with Yerba Buena kids so that we could all get to know each other, but that didn’t work out too well…. my group did though! My group consisted of 2 IHS and 2 YB kids. Howard and I with Lawrence and CJ! When we were digging the hole for the tree-planting, I felt like such a girl….. My arm got tired really easily and I couldn’t shovel much because I’m weak. OH WELL. It was really fun, though! Great day. ^____^ 

January 20, 2012. 

Posting this picture a day late because I was waiting for Michelle to send it to me. I feel like my face looks really round in this picture… 

Michelle got her braces off! Well, she got them off on Wednesday, but we finally have a picture! I think I have a similar picture of us from last year when she had braces and I didn’t. I’ll try and look for it for a contrast :) In chem, we did a lab! Mrs. Bailey told me that she thinks that if I study, I can do very well on the test we have on Monday. That’s stressing me out, because she acts like a momma and I’m afraid to disappoint her. I really want to do well, too. In romo, we answered some questions + worked on a poster presentation in class. My drawing sucks. :x 

The weirdest thing happened in the middle of French. Out of nowhere, a group of girls (who happened to be returning to their class from the book room) came into our French class, trying to get a good look at Eric because they heard of the “exchange student”. It made poor Eric look like a spectacle. But then again, he was probably flattered at the sight of a group of girls trying to squeeze their way through a small door just to get a look at him. 

In Lang, we didn’t do much. Or maybe I wasn’t paying too much attention. We were just discussing the essays and then some more of Huckleberry Finn. In pre-calc, we took the 2nd part of the test. It was fairly easy, but the first question threw me off. Towards the end, Reuben saw me stressing out, so he whispered me the answer. I got that question wrong. 

January 19, 2012.

Ooh, a video today! This is the audition tape that Bryan, Jenny and I recorded today as an audition for Interact’s Benefit Show. 

Today was REALLY cold. The sweater I was wearing was pretty warm. In chem, we went over the homework, and that basically took up most of the classtime. We also did some review, I think? I actually don’t really remember. I zoned out a lot because I was sleepy and I was trying to stay awake. During break, Chris went with me to heat my pasta in ASB lounge. The pasta I made was kinda bland today because I made it in the morning before school and I was in a rush. In Romo, we didn’t do much. We watched a video, answered questions about it, then took notes. In French, we just worked in our workbooks like we usually do. Sometimes Biaye gets ridiculous. I was glad today was not one of those days. 

During lunch, Jenny and I went to the band room. It took a while for Bryan to get there. By the time he got there and he got the guitar tuned and everything, we only had 5 minutes left of lunch to record. So we recorded the video above in one take and for a rushed take, I think it came out okay! I love Jenny’s voice and I love it when she hits high notes. ♥‿♥ I’m also jealous of Bryan’s guitar skills. 

In Lang, we didn’t do anything but discuss the book. We took a test in pre-calc that was like, super easy. I finished so early, that I tripled checked my test, turned it in, and sat around for like 15-20 minutes. After school, I went to conditioning. I swear, I always somehow pick the best days to go to conditioning because today was an easy day. We ran a couple of laps around the track, then Doan had the newcomers and people who were freshmen last year practice throwing birdies for their form. The returners raced for a bit, then we helped the newcomers with their throws and form. It rained for a bit and it was FREEZING cold out there. I was wearing like track shorts and a t-shirt because I thought we were going to be running the whole time. I couldn’t even feel or lift my arms. That’s how cold I was. It was nice, though. 

January 18, 2012.

Out of all the pictures I jumped into today, I like this one the most because I think it beautifully depicts our group. Collaborations are camera-whore days. Today was Early Release. Not much really happens on collaborations for me. In Chem, we just went over the homework and did some practice problems. Mrs. Bailey has been telling me that I’ve been doing much better now that I sit in the front because I like to answer her questions and I love the trends. I guess I just learn better when I actively participate. In Romo, we really did nothing. Sometimes I don’t even remember what we do in class. It goes by in a haze because I’m just so bored, I zone out. Lunch was okay. In French, we just corrected our essays. Biaye needs to pull himself together! He’s so moody and unpredictable. Lang was boring. We just read. Pre-calc was boring as well. 

After school, Bryan, Jenny and I hung out with Janet and had a little jam session to sort of practice for our audition tape that we’re going to film tomorrow. We just found a random bench on A-Villa and sat down. My nerves are getting to me. I feel like every note I’m singing is wrong and I feel like my voice sounds terrible. Hopefully, I do okay tomorrow. We practiced for a bit, sorted out the parts that Jenny and I would sing individually and together, then after a couple practices, we basically sat around and sang to random songs Bryan would play on his guitar. It was relaxing. I’ve been sorta needing something like that lately because I’ve been so stressed out about everything. 

January 17, 2012.

Today was pretty much uneventful. In chem, we went over the homework and then talked a bit more about trends. We also took the first reaction quiz with the new format, which was…..different. It was sort of hard, but I think I did okay? I’m not sure. I hope I at least got a 5 or a 6. For History, we went to the computer lab and spent our classtime on a computer activity. In French, we just wrote an essay while Biaye worked with AP French. I FOUND A JUICY SECRET. So cute. So cute. :) In Lang, we just sat around and read while Mrs. Winchester talked to more people about their essays. Nancy and I were distracted and didn’t get much reading done. We didn’t do much in pre-calc either. Just the usual go over hw, take notes, and then have classtime to do more homework.

After school was the 1st board meeting for all the new board members! I’m so glad they were all added to our family. Love ‘em all. ^____^ We went over the usual meeting routine, then we played “bang” as a little bonding game! We’re also going to start playing “assassin” soon. I can’t wait! Omfg, I am going to be such a great assassin, but I bet I’m going to be HORRIBLE at staying alive. I’ll probably be one of the first to die. 

January 16, 2012. 

Maroon gang or diieeeee. LOL. This afternoon, James texted me to see if I wanted to go get food with him and Jimmy, but I couldn’t because my parents didn’t let me. They came by along with Jessica and Kevin and they brought me food! Knew exactly what to get me from Barcode, too. Thai Tea with small pearls. :) Coincidentally, Kevin, Jimmy, James and I were all wearing maroon and Jessica was the only one wearing blue! So we asked her to take a picture for us. LOL. I look so awkward and gross and ugly, but it was the only picture I took today, so it’ll have to do
